Building
code compliance is critical in the construction industry. The International Building Code (IBC) is used at the state or local level in 47 states plus Washington, D.C. The IBC was developed as a nationwide model code
to replace the regional National (NBC), Uniform (UBC) and Standard
(SBC) building codes. The IBC has been implemented in 16 states
and many local jurisdictions. Since wood trusses are included in
many wood framed structures, it is important to understand the truss
requirements in the IBC and how these are reflected in the job information
presented by the Truss Designer. This 1-hour TTW discusses the requirements
for metal plate connected wood trusses in the IBC, especially as
they are reflected on a Truss Design Drawing.
This course is approved by the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board.
